This trade of tatling vile we must despise
If we desire to be upright and wise
Each man may have a copy of the wrench
If Joseph casts it not beneath the bench
11 O saints let not your tongues the vi<le assist>
Who love so well their tongues with his <to twist>
Who love so well to persecute the just
Who in the Lord supreme put all their <trust>
O friends we must the Lord of Hosts obey
And walk in peace along the perfect way
The saints a tatling tale should never tell
Nor on the tatlers subjects learn to dwell
12 The wrench in proper place we ought to use
And not its goodly powr to much abuse
This wrench to hold the tatling tongue was <made>
And now we want of upright men Their aid
That we the tongues of tatlers vile may hold
That they may not to us their wrath unfold
Im sure the saints in This will be agreed
Perhaps the wrench is good we stand in <need>
