Biography
Ca. 23 Feb. 1811–8 Nov. 1904. Printer, farmer, miller. Born in Palmyra, Ontario Co., New York. Son of William Rogers and Hannah Selby. Learned printer’s trade at office of Wayne Sentinel and helped typeset first edition of Book of Mormon, ca. 1829–1830, in Palmyra. Worked in government printing office at Washington DC for several years. Married Elizabeth A. Davis, by ca. 1858. Moved to Williamson, Wayne Co., New York, by 1860. Moved to Sodus, Wayne Co., by 1880. Resided with daughter Harriet McPherson, ca. 1891–1903, in Palmyra. After daughter’s death, moved to Charlton, Worcester Co., Massachusetts, to live with daughter Lucy Hill, ca. May 1903. Died in Charlton. Buried in Lakeview Cemetery, in Pultneyville, Wayne Co.
