Bath Township, New Hampshire

Area explored, 1754. Charter granted, 1761; re-granted 1765. Settled 1765. Situated in vale of Connecticut River between Green Mountains and White Mountains. Population in 1810 about 1,600. Population in 1830 about 1,600. First Latter-day Saint baptism in area occurred 27 Apr. 1832. By Jan. 1833, missionaries Orson Pratt and Lyman Johnson had performed over twenty baptisms in township.
