The “P” following JS’s name may be designating him as the church’s prophet. Near the end of his notes on the discourse, just before recording JS’s concluding prophecies, James Burgess wrote “Joseph Smith prophet”—apparently a bookend attribution identifying JS as the presenter of the sermon.
