Early this morning I received a visit from Elders and of , who brought me Several Letters, one from Dr who, referring to his visit, with Esq, of , says, “He would be pleased to receive a letter of Prest Joseph’s own dictation Signed by his own hand,” which request I was disposed to comply with but deferred it till the next day. wrote as follows, “ Sept 7 (L.L. 201 2. 3) ”— Brothers and called again this P.M. & I related to them many interpositions of divine providence in my favor, &c.—

I received a very interesting visit from . , & , <10> Saturday 10 , , & signified their declared their intention to ◊ to the city council their intention of absence for 3 months or more and others were appointed to fill their places during their absence. , , & were absent, & their places were filled. The <object of the> absence of these brethern was to preach the gospel in different states, & show up the wickedness & falsehood of the apostate . “An Ordinance relative to the returns of writs of ” was passed by the city council.
