The People of the State of , TO THE OF SAID — GREETING:
WE COMMAND YOU TO SUMMON admnr [administrator] of the estate of Joseph Smith decd if to be found in your , to appear before the Circuit Court of said county of , on the first day of the next term thereof, to be holden at the Court House, in , on the Third Monday in the month of May next— to answer the complaint of & & guardian of & Margaret Lawrence minor heirs of Decd of a plea that he as such administrator render unto them the sum of Seven Thousand seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars & six cents which to them he as such administrator owes and from them unjustly detains to their damage of the sum of Seven thousand Dollars Dollars, as he says. And have you there this writ, and make return thereon in what manner you execute the same.
