The State of Ohio Lake County ss [scilicet]. I Admr of the estate of Joseph Smith Jr decd do solemnly make oath that the heirs & legal representatives of the said Joseph Smith Jr other than named as such in the above petition are unknown to me that said Widow of said Joseph Smith Jr & her husband & & his son and heir the said reside out of this and at in the state of as I verily believe
Sworn to & subscribed this 19th day of september 1861 before me

On the 24th day of October AD 1862 a notice & affidavit were filed in words & figures as follows

Widow of Joseph Smith Jr and her husband and son of said Joseph Smith Jr and the other heirs of said Joseph Smith Jr deceased are hereby notified that Administrator of the said Joseph Smith Jr has filed in the Probate Court of Lake County Ohio a petition for the sale of the real estate of said decedent and will in pursuance of the prayer of said petition on the 24th day of October 1861 or as soon thereafter as counsel can be heard ask for an order for the assignment of dower to the said Widow of the said Joseph Smith Jr in & for the sale of the following real estate of which the said Joseph Jr died seized or so much thereof as may be necessary for the payment of his debts to wit parts of Lots 29, 41 and 42 of Tract No 1 situate in in said County containing Thirteen acres of Land more or less deeded by Samuel Enfield [Canfield] to said decedent also part of Lot thirty in said deeded by to the decedent containing one acre and 154½ rods being the same Land on which the so called stands
