And thereupon the following subpoenas were issued viz:—

We command you that you summon Luke Wood if he be found in your District to be and appear before our Judge of our Circuit Court of the United States for the District of at the rule day thereof at in the District aforesaid on the first Monday of January next to answer unto the in a filed in the Clerk’s office of said Court.
And have you then there this writ.

Witness the Hon. Roger B. Taney chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the at in the District aforesaid this 2d day of December A. D. 1850 and of our Independence the 75 year.
