<1> Wednesday Dec 1.st 1841— in view of the proceedings of the meeting of the church at on the 18th of Novr when several <certain> <individuals> were cut off from the Church for Stealing, The Twelve issued the following Epistle “We are glad (T&S. 616. 17) ”
<2> Thurdey [Thursday] Dec 2. I recived the following Reveletion Reveletion, To . Given Decr 2, 1841. Verily thus saith the Lord. (L. Lord 66) Lord.
<4> Saturdy 4[th] A conference was held at (L.L. 26) chu[rc]h
I attendd the city council & spoke in defence of the Marshall in his not serving a warrent, when his life would have been endangered.—
<7> Tuesday. 7. Copy of a letter to <Lawyers> & <> of . “Esquires (Li. 217) Smith”
<8> Wednesday 8 The twelve who attened the conferene on the 4[th] inst, returnd with near a thousand dollars worth of property for the which had been donated by the saints at ; consisting of horses, waggons, provision, clothing &c.
<10> Friday 10. 1841. Esqr. (L. B. 216) Smith
<11> Satuday 11. Late this evening, while sitting in council with the Twelve in my new , on Water Street, I directed , Prst of the 12 to to go (L. L. 33) to do.
left for Several days Since, and reported the situation of affairs concerning , as rather unfavorable, and I told him he need not return <there> at present. <considering it unnecessary for him to tary there any longer> at present.— Since I have been engaged of in laying the foundation of the Church of Christ, I have been prevented, in, various ways from keeping continuing my Journal & the History, in a manner Satisfatry [satisfactory] to Myselfe, or in justice to the cause, Long imprisonments, vexatious & Long continued Lawsuits The treachery of some of my clerks; & the deaths of others and the poverty of myself & bretheren from continued plunder & driving, has prevented a continued chain of events my handing down to posterity a connected memorandum of events, desirable to all lovers of truth. Yet I have continued <to> keep up a Journel from time to time [p. 21]
