<16> “At a special conferece (T&Seasons 521 22) clerks”
<19.> Thursday 19[th] Elders , & went to and Examined the Town plat of which is situated about a mile south of the village of . and made some arrangements with the proprietors for building up the place. And establishing at is opposite The plat designed for the City of is the school section, No 16, & opposite the fist permenat & good Landing place on the below the falls which is about 2 miles below Landing which is filling up with sandbars. The brethren returned about 11. P.M. quite exhausted.
<22> Sunday 22 I preached at the stand.
<25> Wednesday 25[th] I wrote the following Letter. To “ Esq. " (Dear Sir (L. B. 208) Joseph Smith.
The Hotchkiss purchase, to which the foregoing letter relates includes all the land lying North of the white purchase to the , and there on the south, including the best steam boat landing.
<27> Friday 27. Elder . died at his resedence in in the 30[th] year of his age, <in the full hope of a glorious Resurrection.> He was associate Editor of the Times & Seasons, Col in the , and had done much writing for my self & the chu[r]ch.
