<1> Monday March 1, 1841, I attended the city council & presented a bill for “an ordinance in relation to Regious Soceties (T&S. 336. 7) Recorder. I also presented a bill as follows, for “an Ordinance in relation to public meetings (T&S. 337) Recorder.
The Council divided the city (see Feb 22) ward
I also offered a bill for “an Ordinance creating certain additional offices therein named, Sec 1. (T&S. 336) Recr
The council also ordained that all lands hereafter survey in the city, should be surveyed according to the city plat, & that all county <& state> roads in the city, which do not occupy the same ground as the streets be discontinued, and that the original surveys of the town of & commerce city be discontinued. A vote of thanks & freedom of the city was conferred on the Hon . U.S. Senator for .
<2> Tuesday 2 visited Oldhom. & returned
<3> Wednesday 3d to . Elders & arrived in
<4> Thursday 4. left for , and was followed by Elders & on the 5th. Sunday 7 & preached at the Carpenters Hall .
<8> Monday 8. I attended the city council. The following appointments were made, viz. city Surveyor, , Weigher & Seeler, , Assesser, , Market Master, , <was sworn> Superviser of streets, & , , & was sworn High Constables. I gave my views on several local Measures proposed by the council.
<10> Monday 10th. <“To the Editer of the Star”> “ March 10th 1841. Dear Brother (MS. 286.7) .” , Govrnor of the State of , (Lieut General’s commissio) State,” (also oath on the back)
<11.> Thursday 11th Elders . & Met at
<15> Monday. I attended the city council.— and took part in the discussions concerning Mill. in the S. W. part of the .
