Daniels caugh[t] up with us he went from there to Mr [Larkin] Scotts on when he caugh up with us the man was all of a bluster & appeared to be tired and I asked what was the matter what had tired him he said he was in the first section of the men who had Jumped the fince [fence] at the Jail that [Franklin] Worrell was a very stout man that it took four of them to hold him down that they could not do it that he raised up and drew his sword that he Daniels took hold of it and tried to wring it out his hand that W did not let it go and that he D struck him on his arm with his other hand and nocked it out of his hand and threw it across the street into the <N W cor of the> garden he said something and told me and Mr Fuller that if we saw Worrell before we did to tell him where his sword was— said something about taking his company and going to and that they would ride him on a rail— he said something about a flash of light— said nothing about there being four men carried away— [1/4 page blank] [p.
