in that night I did not seen into the yard at and call on Mr. Key to protict me I never was allarmed and if any person thought that I was allarmed they were mistaken— Mrs. Fleming went to on Friday night. we went on board after night we came back on the tuesday following I cannot recollect whether the nite the Smiths were killed was dark or moon light. I never said I was In the Hall door— while at we boarded at Mrs Dixens [Dixon’s] and whilst at I denied that I knew anything about who killing the Smiths. I did not say in the presents of Reynolds & that I did not know who killed the Smiths— I was not till it fear being called as a witness while in the reason why I did not admit that I knew was that I feared being called as a witness— I am a member of the Mormon Church have been a member five years am not married

On the day Jo Smith was killed I was on the road between & I was in that [2 words illegible]t about 9 oclock they left [2 words illegible] I drove a baggage Waggon [p. [33]]
