I have seen W[illiam] M Daniels I had some conversation with him about the killing the Smiths on the night the Smiths were killed I slept with him that knight— he told me that orders came from to Prentice’s [Prince’s] shanty for the troops to disband and go home— and that the Smiths were dead that he came to to see if they were dead— he did not not state to me that he was present or not said that heard at Prentises shanty that Smiths were killed and had come to to see— he saw they were shot— I was not <never> at the Shantees in my life— I was in in the morning left before noon heard nothing about the Smiths going to be killed in [1/4 page blank]
